Salzburg Global Seminar

Schloss Leopoldskron, home to the Salzburg Global Seminar since 1947.

Austria: The Salzburg Global Seminar is an independent, non-governmental organization based in Salzburg, Austria.  Founded in 1947, the Seminar convenes imaginative thinkers from different cultures and institutions, organizes problem-focused initiatives, supports leadership development, and engages opinion-makers through active communication networks, all in partnership with leading institutions from around the world and across different sectors of society.

In 2007, the Seminar joined with the International Center for Media & the Public Agenda to create the Salzburg Academy on Media and Global Change.  The Seminar has served as the host institution for the Academy since then.

The Salzburg Academy is part of the Seminar’s Media Initiative, along with the Strengthening Independent Media series, and the Knight Fellowships.
